ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Larry Harvey spent all of his life living within sight of the ocean, from Boston to Daytona Beach. He has traveled the Caribbean extensively for the past twenty years, and loves the culture, people, rich history, and especially the music of the islands. After playing in cover/original rock bands in every night club in Boston, he took several years off from music, and decided to re emerge in 2009 with all new original songs. His style is torn between traditional New England style folk music, and a Caribbean influenced sound, while almost all of his songs reflect a life of love for the sea.
Larry doesn’t just talk the talk. Since the age of ten, he has worked in many different areas of commercial fishing, and to this day will occasionally jump in as a crew member on the Boston based lobster boat “No Regrets” when asked to by the Captain. With no professional music training, he doesn’t call himself a “musician”, but simply “A guy with a guitar who likes to tell stories”. His parents toured the country with a country western vaudeville act, and there were always a few guitars around the home to pick up and play, which is how he learned. In his own words:
“My life isn’t about my music, my music is about my life.” ~ Larry Harvey
