Album Notes

Daydreams is a follow up to my debut CD, Footprints in Paradise. I'm especially proud of this project and was able to grab my older brother Greg from his busy life to help with some soulful clarinet on In The Moonlight.

A wise conductor once told me that most classical music has moments, moments that transcend what is written on the manuscript and take the performer and listener to a different place, if just briefly. I humbly write music that I enjoy and most likely does not blaze a new and unique trail in music. However, in everything I write, I try to engage the listener with strong melodies over interesting harmonies and add counter melodies to try and see if I can somehow create those “moments” in my work. I hope you enjoy and if so, please drop me an email at Larry@Larrysjazz.com

God Bless, Larry

Larry Lagerberg has been a long-time fixture in Denver’s music scene, having played trumpet and flugelhorn for over thirty years… twenty of them professionally. Following his auspicious debut recording FOOTPRINTS IN PARADISE, he’s just released the entrancing DAYDREAMS, keeping the momentum rolling in a big way with this delicious offering. It’s a gentle collection of originals, ranging from the pensive, pretty “”Forever and Always” (for his wife, Jenny) and “This, I Pray” to the exotic “Sakura” to the sparkling, mid-tempo “Dancing” and “Old School.” Larry’s horn work is superb and velvety smooth, and the settings he surrounds it with are rich and lyrical. When asked about his music, he said, “I try to engage the listener with strong melodies over interesting harmonies and add counter melodies to create those ‘moments’ in my work.” After several listens, I’m happy to report a multitude of those “moments” throughout this CD. Larry Lagerberg’s DAYDREAMS is a true delight!
