Album Notes

I started taking guitar lessons at age eleven, however, I quit after about a year cause I just wasn't interested in what they were teaching, total crap. I practiced on and off for a decade, and getting nowhere, so I finnally started to collect "how to books" and eventually wrote my own book about Scales, Chords and Keys and how they all work together. Until the book was finished, I had no idea what I was doing or how to make music. This book answered all my unknowns and I began writing songs and putting together simple tunes.

I got up at 2:00am every Sunday morning for over ten years and went down to my little studio to work on my CD cause it was the only time that it was quiet. People said I was crazy for doing that but with all of the rest of the week going to my day job, I knew it was the only way that I would be able to finish my music and I did not want to make a couple tunes and then let it go.

Mostly I used the 12 bar blues with, 3-4 chords only, to keep it simple. After I completed a few tunes, that started to sound like real music, my style came automatically which on this first CD is strong Rockin' Blues and Jazzy Boogie's. I believe that after having got that out of my system, I will now be able to focus on a slower pace blues. I 'm sure that a lot of artist will say that their first CD could have been better, but, (Not Me).

Mucho. First track Collector sure got some fast lead guitar. If You Ever in A major is great blues song. Betty also loves the cd Larry. Slapper Shuffle in E is a creative boogie type blues. Sure gets me on my feet. Okay Stop Pushin' in Cmaj. Mixes with keys and guitar. Sure can feel it. Bottom Dummy in A maj. I love the bass and drums on this track. Speed seems to be no limit on the guitar. and its clean. The rest of the tracks got that originality I look for and is rare these days.

well i am betty smith and my boy friend and i like to go listen to these tracks often. track 3 slapper shuffle has a lot of fast boogie woogie that charges my battery, so to speak. track 4 stop pushing is jazz and 5 is bottom dummy and is wild guitars and drums then bass. the drums are featured with the bass in a fast jazz section that really sounds like fusion. track 6 rocks too with guitar and percussion. fast loser is my favorite i think cause it has a feeling and blues that i love. a'int got not future and no past and i'm losin fast. then 8 talks about sunday morning. we live in the clintonville wisconsin area and i think the kids around here would love to blast this music all over town cause it is friendly sounding to all ages. 'i know he's up there yes i do'. track 9 has this thing playing that sounds like a horn with a reed sound. what is that? wow such funky fast playing. sounds like a demo when you but a new keyboard. larry should sell that to casio. now track 10 also has a lotta sounds. lotta guitar. wow larry thanks so much for the awesome music. betty ann smith clintonville wisconsin.
