Album Notes

The Craig Larson Trio (Craig Larson, piano; Matt Larson, bass; and Pat Campbell, drums) is joined here by several of Salt Lake City's finest players--Jay Lawrence on drums and percussion, Tully Cathey on guitar, Brian Booth on tenor saxophone, Sam Cardon, string pads; and Roger Hicks on bassoon. The great Holiday standards are played in several jazz styles that are sure to please a variety of tastes. Great music for the Holidays!

Remember Bing Crosby's rendition of "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep" in the movie "White Christmas"? It's here--in Bossa Nova form no less. It's delightful. You'll also hear a very unique and beautiful version of "What Child Is This?" Check it out. We think you will enjoy this album. We had a lot of fun putting it together. Have a great and peaceful Holiday season!

Great musical ideas by great instrumentalists

First met Larson at birthday party of golfing partner and mutual acquaintance. Recognized unique creativity and craftmanship, which was verified in recent small Gershwin-only concert in Salt Lake City. This Xmas CD has the great ideas and rendition to be expected from Craig Larson --- and his son. They just may be the best, and most knowledgeable of a vanishing breed: disciples of true, pre-R&R classic jazz. Their work is not to be missed by the like-minded, who really listen and hear what they are doing.
