Lars Vegas & The Love Gloves have arrived in the city! ... Thanks to their very original mix of Delta, Country and Juke-Joint Blues of the 1920s to 1940s – they called their style Deltabilly – they were regarded as Germanys most influencial Acoustic Blues Trio ... Now, they have left the country behind to move on to the more urban styles of Rhythm & Blues ... Just like many of the best old Blues men left their home in the Delta to find their luck in the big cities ... On their way, Lars Vegas & The Love Gloves have met some excellent musicians ... To the former trio consisting of Vocals/Guitar, Upright Bass and Drums they added piano, saxophone and trumpet ... So now, they are playing as a six-piece-band ...

Lars Vegas – never heard of him – well, that’s what happened when I got this CD, which is an proper compilation of his previous released four albums. If you point that Lars Vegas is not that wellknown in our circuit this album is a real catchy one. Anyway, here we get, like the tracklist shows, a good bunch of bluestunes and Lars Vegas &n the Love Gloves done fine. With an solid mix of coverversions and selfpenned tunes the band shows perfect their variety and deliver an real good album, far away from this blue anorak audiences. The coverversions , like “ Avalon Blues”, “ Last Fair Deal”, “ Poor Me” or “ Bottle It Up And Go” ( just to name a very few ) are in the same high standard like the selfpenned material, which I mention here with two very good examples “ Bring Your Peaches Home To Me “ and “ Papa Loves To Ape And Clown “ . Lars Vegas isn’t a pure bluesman, like his other projects shows, and he don’t have the rawness of Little Victor or Bo Weavil, but with his ace bandmates he deliver some goods. A real nice release.
