At the time this record was released, Last Train Home had just been named the Washington DC area's artist of the year by music folks who know. The large alt-country and pop band fronted by music journalist Eric Brace made its most melodic and absorbing album with "Time and Water". Check out the compelling Quarter to 3, the honky-tonking Blue Skies or the poignant All Gone Now for tastes of how well Brace's honest voice and stellar songwriting mesh with the group's abundant Mavericks-like sound.
