But there's plenty of good cheer to temper the holiday blues on this excellent release. "Holiday Limited," is one of the most listenable holiday releases in memory. Last Train Home brings its trademark harmonies and splendid musicianship to two Eric Brace originals ("Home for Christmas" and "Christmas in St. Paul") and some classic seasonal tunes. The band swings like mad on Irving Berlin's "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" and rock out on "Christmas" (where Alan Brace does his best to top Ronnie Spector's original version). Between each song there are grin inducing instrumental interludes on banjo, trumpet, and trombone.
