Album Notes

Somersault Season is here!!

This is Laura Freeman’s Action CD. While performing in preschools in Austin, Texas, Laura noticed that kids need to move and march. Many of the songs for Somersault Season were written in the classroom with a bunch of 4 year olds about to dissolve into chaos. Instead they get caught up in the musical magic and want more more more.

“Big City Little City” is a song that takes kids any where on the globe they want to travel. “Antarctica” is a very cold visit to both poles with lots of marching to get there. “My Brother’s a Monster” is another stomp along song that can get little monsters giggling, growling and roaring along luckily the monsters get tired and take a nap by the end of the song. 1 2 3 4 everybody touch the floor has never ever failed to end in a glorious dance party.

Somersault Season follows the seasons noticing the changes in nature. Also we hear from folks around the globe who talk about the seasons in their neck of the woods.

Laura’s website has lyrics, and ideas for song related activities that parents and teachers can lead. Go to www.LauraFreemanMusic.com to get the lyrics, see videos of the songs and download coloring pages for Somersault Season.
