Album Notes

My classical training provided the springboard for these original piano solos. The music comes from my heart, from life lessons as well as piano lessons!

"Colors Dance" was recorded in 2002 and was a more intentional and challenging project for me in a variety of ways. There is additional instrumentation on a few tracks of "Colors Dance: Piano Solos II" which is a departure from my first piano solo CD, "Water Song: Piano Solos."

"Colors Dance" is the title of a song written by my husband Brad who also wrote "Manna" ( the tenth track on this CD). "Ton Y Botel" is one of my favorite hymn melodies. I contacted the granddaughter of it's composer Thomas John Williams, Dilys Evans, who was residing in Wales and I had a delightful phone conversation with her one Sunday afternoon. I am grateful that she gave me permission to use this melody that is cherished by so many people around the world.

“Colors Dance: Piano Solos II” was produced and mixed by Gary Tash of Pinewood Studios / Underscore, Inc., who also did all of the orchestral arrangements. The associate producer was Brad Prill of Melting Stone Music / Underscore Inc. and the CD was mastered by Larry Devivo of Silvertone Mastering.

In addition to being a musician I am also a professional artist . The artwork on the cover of "Colors Dance: Piano Solos II" is from an original watercolor I painted - “Colors Dance Lily."
