Album Notes

Laura Valle influences are found in jazz, tango, flamenco, South American folk, rock, American pop, and even electronic music. You will be taken on a journey through a new world of music landscapes and moods, passionate songs with a touch of jazz and south American temperament.

Valle spent her early years intensely involved in the cultural life of Buenos Aires, then traveled around the world and toured with several bands while studying music in Europe. After graduating from the Music Academy of Basel in Switzerland, she moved to southern California and formed her Latin jazz band, the Laura Valle Quartet featuring Juan Pedro Estanga, Paul Perez, and John Chiodini.

Her debut CD Perlas, co produced with multi instrumentalist and composer Juan Pablo Lazo, was recorded between Argentina, Europe, and USA in collaboration with talented artists and songwriters like Juan Pablo Lazo, Daniel Maza, Matt Fronke, Henri Texier, Facundo Guevara and Abel Rogantini.
The music is smooth, soulful, full of rich instrumental layers and moods. The Album surprises with the new ways of mixing styles and subjects: a cumbia back beat about surfing, Uruguayan candombe with a touch of soul, a melancholic song with drum and bass inspired groove about skating, tango ballads, milongas and more. In this recording of global projection Laura Valle sings in Spanish and English: " Distant like the light one day my heart will travel. Now in your arms I'm temple of water and song"
