Laura is a wonderful song writer and singer, and her talent is demonstrated here with lots of versitilty. She sings, writes, plays guitar and is a fab percussionist!!! She also has proven to be a great producer on this CD with super arrangements and musicianship. A favorite for anyone's music collection......

This CD gets better with each listening.

The richness of this CD grows with each listening. The first time I heard it I was struck by the sensitive and poetic lyrics. There’s a quiet intensity to her words. Their honesty is sold by her stylized vocalizations, which are wrapped in beautiful melodies and interesting arrangements. I often react to instrumentals in an album almost as an intrusion but in this case they are a nice extension of Wood’s talent – they blend well with the rest of her music and moods

Laura's song "Road to Heaven" really does take you there.
author: Lourdes Pita
This album opens with a sultry song "I am Your Lover" that brings to mind K.D.Lang. Her voice throughout the album is crystalline. Her guitar playing is outstanding, with an instrumental like "Azul" to the most engaging and alluring "Road to Heaven" you can't go wrong. Its a CD that is very introspective yet very accessible to all music lovers becasue she's got a little bit of rock, country, and pop , all mixed in. Road to Heaven happens to be a track I have played over a million times, but the whole album is one that you want to start over again when its over! The musicians on the this album like Geoff Gee, are first rate. Great job Laura!

The next best thing to a live performance...
author: Judy
If you can't hear Laura in person, this is the next best thing. South Station Slide has a little something for everyone. Laura has recorded eleven wonderfully different songs. Some are mellow ballads, others joyous rock, some with a jazzy beat, another has a mystical melody. Laura is an amazingly talented singer/songwriter. The vocals and instruments have a marvelous synergy. This is a must own CD.
