Album Notes

On her first CD "Remember to Live," Laurea Glusman gratifies listeners by singing eleven selections glorifying life. "Remember to Live" is a culmination of her talents as a vocalist, and her first attempt as a songwriter. Glusman grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She began singing as a child in church and refined her talents in high school and college. In high school, she led music at youth conferences with the Episcopal church. Glusman also began studying classical voice in her high school years. She went on to earn a minor in vocal performance from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, but decided to follow briefly in the path of her major studies (Business Administration), taking a job in commercial lending upon graduation. In 2000, she left banking, having discerned a call to full-time youth ministry.

Glusman spent three years as a fulltime youth minister at Christ Episcopal Church in Macon, Georgia, and then went on to pursue graduate studies. She is currently working on a Master of Social Work at UNC and a Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity school, in the hopes of continuing her work with youth in the church. In her tenure in youth ministry, she has touched the lives of many teenagers by helping them to find and see God in their daily lives. By singing at numerous conferences and retreats across the Southeast, she has reached hundreds of teenagers and adults.

Glusman has a solid, melodic soprano voice that lends itself well to the selections on the CD. She wrote "Towards the Light" which is directed towards the young people she works with. The song is about the choices that young people struggle with, and the courage it takes to stay on the right path. Her renditions of Derald Daugherty & Steve Hindalong's "Beautiful Scandalous Night' and Ron Block's "In the Palm of your Hand" are especially touching.
