Laurence Cooper's first recordings made in Australia by SkyLab Studios in Sydney. The 5 track EP is also that transitional stage in his career where he was still playing Blues material but also performing live with a newly formed "Cafe Scene" Band called Sneakers Falling Apart.
It was this 90's band who encouraged Laurence to try writing his own material and these are his earliest recordings of his own material but to play safe, he added Homesick James Willamson's "Set A Date" and re-arranged a Traditional Tunes that Josh White had written lyrics for back in the 60's. It all works well, making this an interesting and enjoyable EP.
This project took several years to complete as Laurence had to fly across the Tasman Sea to Australia and stay in a Hotel while recording the music. The studio time is not longer than usual, just the star and finish lines for the project times because of long 'breaks' between Sessions.
You can expect more from Laurence in the future as he has teamed up with Lee Palmer as The Red Blues Rock Duo and also with Andrew Bicknell as Hudson.
He is back doing what he does best, the Blues.
