Hailing from a small town in Massachusetts, this Singer/Songwriter made her move to LA to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where she honed her craft as a singer and an actor. Being raised in a predominately musical family, it seems as though Lauren has been preparing to conquer the music world since she was but a wee one! With a pure but raw sound, Lauren has been known to silence a room. Gaining inspiration from such artists as Sara Bareilles, The Beatles, Hanson, Brandi Carlile, and Ingrid Michaelson, Lauren’s lyrics are to the point and yet they don’t give it all away, they leave you thinking.
The last few years have been quite a ride for the up and coming artist! Touring the west coast, playing some of LA’s most prestigious venues… including the Whisky A Go Go, recording two EP's and two compilation albums, teaming up with fellow singer/songwriters Mallory Trunnell and Lyndzie Taylor on a tour called 'The Steal Hearts Tour' which will kick off early 2011, have all made Lauren a stronger artist and person. She is excited for what this new EP signifies in her career. '' My first project, 'Fall' was an exploration of who I wanted to be as an artist and since then I've grown so much. I really feel as though 'Heart In A Box' is a great representation of that growth and it's definitely a vulnerable, inside look at my life over the past 2 years...it's literally my heart in a box." With a heart felt ballad like 'Front Of The Line' or vamped up tunes like 'Shooting Stars' or 'Poison' there is great variety in these six songs and yet a common thread that strings through and ties them together.
