Album Notes

From the jugband exuberance of Lion's Big Debut, to the breathtaking harmonica solos of Jet Fuel Folderol, Time of Wonder is Stefan des Lauriers acoustic Tour de Farce.

Produced by rock musician Sharkey McEwen and multi-instrumentalist Ken Whiteley-who plays mandolin, banjo, mountain dulcimer, accordion and a host of roots instruments - this synthesis of rock and roots is sure to delight people of all shapes and sizes.

Stefan's melodic diversity is maintained in a variety of innovative themes:

Sunflowers, an avant garde peace song reminiscent of the Byrds.

Great Engineer, a train song evocative of a locomotive, with its chugging harmonica and pedal steel guitar.

Heart of Snow with its exquisite wintry imagery a lyrical backdrop to a bizarre but fictitious figure skating mishap.

Vision of Victory with Sharkey's acoustic guitar conjuring up a mountain climber, a little bit over the hill, as he returns to the scene of the climb.

Wind-up Monkey Dance, a ragtime boogie line dance for people who have the tenacity out of line.

And Junkyard in the Sky, a rock and roll number that compares classic baby boomers to undying cars with outlandish tailfins - not to mention Time to Say Good Night, a harmonica enhanced lullaby that embraces environmentally correct bedtime thoughts.

As Edwin Holloway, Creator of CountrySide Blues at KVMR FM says: "If there ever was an epiphany of musical inspiration, this is it."
