Finally... Something different!

I don't know about you folks, but I grew up listening to SONGS. Songs with melodies, catchy hooks... songs that stick in your head. Yeah, remember the Kinks and the Beatles? Remember Zeppelin and old Pink Floyd? Of course you remember them, and that's the point. Songs that stand the test of time - that's what today's rock & roll needs. It's what real music fans crave; and very few bands out there give it to us. I listened to the posted songs once, did a double-take, and listened again. Then I went and bought the CD. Some of this stuff is raw, but all of it is VERY cool. Strong melodies that stick in your head, good driving guitar rock with a twist. Actually, my favorite song on the CD, #7 Leave Me Be, isn't even posted here. It reminds me of a slow Ween song or something. All the songs sound like they'd be amazing live! Anyway, this CD is really good, well worth the money. I don't like to make predictions, but if Obelisk is any indication of the band's potential, I expect The Law of Fives to be a permanent fixture in the future of rock. Keep at it guys, Obelisk is as close to genius as I've heard all year! - S. Stone

Real Classic Rock.

I've actually had this CD for almost a year now. I was a good friend of one of the band members when we were in highschool. I was bumbling around and found their website. Natrually interested I bought a CD. While Tyson being in a rock band isn't a surprise, I was very surprised by the quality of all the songs on this CD. Kind of hard to rationalize when you know all the stupid things someone did a long long time ago....
Regardless, each of these songs is different, but all share a real classic rock feeling. My current favorite song is "i know", with "waste away" a close second. It's too bad that I don't get back to NY often enough to check out their lives shows. This is dedinately a CD to keep in the visor CD holder or rip it onto your IPOD. Also definately worth the 5 bucks. Can't wait for the new CD... I think it's coming out sometime this summer?
