This blues CD is something different from my last blues CD. The color of the music evokes a icy palette of blue hues. Many songs have a swing noir feel to them. Even the guitar sound is a completely new color. Softer, jazzier. rounder.

Album Notes

This blues CD is something different from my last blues CD.
The color of the music evokes a icy palette of blue hues. Many songs have a swing noir feel to them.
Even the guitar sound is a completely new color. Softer, jazzier. rounder.
The vocals now have an accentuated phrasing that seems to flow like water.
In writing the lyrics to "Blue Voodoo", "Wolfbane Bloom" and "Good News Never Comes Knocking",
I used a technique of hitting the record button on the machine without any idea of what I am going to say.
Sometimes profound insights are unlocked as they reveal themselves unconsciously.
In the same way a Jackson Pollac reveals the energy released by the storms in his head to us in the physical dimension.
This forces the music to take the same dark tone revealing a stark and savage psychological self portrait in triptych with those songs.
Admittedly I write songs to escape the bitter sting of the fates. Naked, I must publish this collection to confront the brutal reality of my own life.
