Album Notes

Our debut cd "Old Steel Company" is a collection of original songs inspired by Love, Friendship, Fullfillment, Family, Nature and the Ocean. We're like a family, we've been together for six years and have known each other for about ten. We all have a strong bond and you can hear it in the record! Andy Keenan, J.P. Wasiko, and Keith Snyder are some of the finest musicians to walk the face of the planet.

Lazlo has opened for Lyle Lovett, performed with Chris Harford, Devin Greenwood, Birdie Busch, John Francis to name a few. Individual members of Lazlo have performed with Trey Anastasio, Tom Marshall (phish), John Eddie, Phil Roy, Chris Harford, Deen Ween, Amandala, Rana, Jeannie Brooks... Our Music has also been played on 88.5 XPN, 89.9 WVIA, and 103.3 PRB and we've played all over the place

LOOK OUT FOR A 2007-8 AMERICAN AND EUROPEAN TOUR!!!

SOME REVIEWS:

Susan Van Dongen of the Princeton Packet writes:
...Lazlo's contagious grooves, rich harmonies, and subtle songwriting are great reasons to be into this band. Their sound has been described as "ethereal country" and "new folk rock," but the music defies a single category.

Deb Cooperman of US1 writes:
..Offering up a blend of immensely listenable alternative-country tunes, the four members of Lazlo could easily be the offspring of Neil Young, and Emmy Lou Harris, Wilco and Lucinda Williams, or Shawn Colvin and Michael Stipe...

Melissa Yercov of the Trend writes:
...How would you describe music that doesn't fit into any genre? It's not quite indie rock, but close; not exactly folk, but similar in some ways. Maybe try adding some country, a little rock, three harmony vocals, a saxophone and steel guitar, and you might have some idea what the local band lazlo is all about...

Lazlo is:
Jon Thompson-(songwriter)lead vocals, guitar, saxophone, and clarinet
Andy Keenan-guitars, backing vocals, lap steel, dobra, pedal steel, melodica and harmonica
J.P. Wasiko-drums and percussion
Keith Snyder-bass and backing vocals
Shannon Sanderson-backing vocals and lead vocal on "pink and blue"

Enjoyed the music tremendously. The various instruments used added to the appeal of "Old Steel Company". Vocals were excellent and pleasant to the ear.

Profound universal moments, no trite silliness, just great turns of ideas into memorable verbal and musical phrases. Nice. Sing along in your favorite decibel level. Bravo!
