Sexy, Intimate, and Warmly heartfelt...a must have for your collection

As someone who has sung in several Broadway shows and in more than a few NY Cabarets, I am pleased to be able to say that this CD is one of INTAMACY and great warmth...WOW! The arrangements melded beautifully with Lynda's voice;I'm a fan of her original lyrics and melodies which go straight to the heart of the listener and of her distinct touch on the piano...The cover songs are wonderful too: the guitar augmenting the vocals, the piano solos, the very sexy Scotch and Soda--her voice was made for that song. Then, her THINK OF US, loved the steel guitar with the violins coming in, very lush...LET ME BE CLOSE...great take on a basa feel, a bit of a driving beat...SOMEONE WHO MATTERS, I liked the way Lynda kept the key "down"...It was very personal...and OPINION OF OTHERS...she knocks it out of the park with the arrangement and her voice...I can see this being done in cabarets etc. I really, really liked it! Basically, I'm so IMPRESSED. The packaging is stunning, but then when you play the CD, she delivers the music;she makes you feel each number;Lynda has her heart in it and that heart is felt in her voice and touch on the keyboard. I'm playing it at work and at home. It's up there with the best.

This CD deserves a Grammy, really!

With Rap, Hip Hop, Heavy Metal dominating the radio waves and music stores, it's stunning to find NEW original romantic ballads. Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, etc. record the great OLD standard ballads from 50 years ago, but no one writes anything like them today. Well, heads up, surfers, Lynda Barnes Lovett is a writer of classic romantic ballads! Maybe there's hope for the music industry yet. Anyway, she deserves a Grammy!

RETURN OF THE LOVELY LYNDA!
author: jonaco
Love Diana Krall, Peggy Lee and cabaret artistes? I do, and I love Lynda Lovett too! The lovely singer/pianist/
composer from Bermuda returns with this delightful CD, a mix of cabaret standards and her own songs. Her voice is warm and welcoming; her keyboard work light and tasteful. There are only ten tracks, but they're all great; standouts include originals "Never Say Goodbye" and "Let Me Be Close To You". My favorite track is "Scotch and Soda", which has a great "after-hours" sound and great sax work by Darren Rahn. Lynda also reprises one song from her first CD- none other than "W-I-N-O", which isn't a radio station but a witty little number with a Peggy Lee flavor. One question: what's this lady doing on Bermuda? She'd be a hit in any American jazz club. I'd go to Bermuda to hear, and meet, Lynda in person- bet she'd be worth the trip!
