L. C. is originally from Cleveland, Ohio where his music roots run very deep. His father, a recorded singing artist himself, exposed the children from a young age to a great love and appreciation of music.
L. C. began as a lead singer in the youth choir for the Olivet Baptist Church in Cleveland. He went on to perform at numerous talent shows with his group "The Mystique". He also had performances at the WHK Auditorium and Leo's Club, both in Cleveland.
After arriving in Los Angeles, L. C. was soon working with Frank Wilson, a producer known for his work with acts such as Billy Davis & Marilyn McCoo. He later would record several tunes with H. B. Barnum. A production deal followed with the Wilder Brothers at their recording studio in West Los Angeles.
L. C. worked on several projects with Clarence Avant and his Tabu Productions at the A&M Studios in Hollywood. Soon after, L. C. was signed with USA Records, headed by Danny Jordan and Martin Braude. He completed the single "Free & Easy" under their label. The tune received air play in the Los Angeles area.
L. C. was a member of the Los Angeles based Vocal Registry and through that organization completed several independent projects. He went on to produce a number of projects on his own, one of which was selected as the winning submission for the KJLH Radio Star Search contest. The tune received air play and L. C. had a live on~air interview with the DJ for his song "Standing By The Edge of a Rainbow".
L. C. became widely requested for independent projects and his recording of "The Magic Touch" was included in the motion picture "Zapped Again". Another recording, "Broken Heart Healer" (done with Warner Bros. songwriter, Stephen Dorff), was used in the video release "In From The Storm". L. C. also completed several cover tunes for Japanese producers through a contact from James Gatson (Motown drummer, formerly with the Watts 103rd St. Band).
L. C.'s son, a well known actor, has enlisted the efforts of his father to produce several songs for him. Most recently, however, L. C.'s attention has turned to his independent CD, "Crossroads", which has received very positive reception in Europe, most notably in London, England. He has gotten air play for several of the cuts from the CD and good press from In The Basement Magazine, as well as Soulin Magazine. The CD has been sold here in the States as well as in Europe.
