Album Notes

Lonesome Dan & The Curmudgeons are group of hard working, middle aged musicians from Long Island, NY. Besides working in this particular musical setting the members have been seen and heard in many other local musical acts.
Main singer/songwriter/guitarist Dan Welsch is a nice guy, not really a curmudgeon at all. For that matter the other guys in the band are all decent chaps as well. A friend gave us the name and somehow it stuck.
Music often reflects who you are and what you have lived through and ocasionally what you are doing right now. This collection of songs is for the aforementioned baby boomers and anybody else who cares to listen.

On March 20, 2008 this CD was reviewed by Newsday, the largest circulation newspaper in the NY Metro area. Music editor Rafer Guzman wrote:
"Lonesome Dan & The Curmudgeons", a morosely funny and terrifically refreshing disc."

On March 4, 2008 The Good Times ( The leading music magazine on Long Island ) wrote:
"This 11 song album features mostly original songs and a superior production job. It's contemporary roots music with lots of slide guitar and straight-ahead arrangements".

Lonesome Dan & The Curmudgeons

Lonesome Dan's songs will ring true to millions of middle aged folks, who came of age in the rock generation of the late 60s through 70s, living in suburban USA and dealing with all the challenges of modern life. Blending garage rock, folk and blues, Lonesome Dan songs are, in a word, genuine. The recording quality is excellent, as well. Highly recommended.
