LIVING DEAD LIGHTS

OFFICIALLY

"UNOFFICIAL"

BIOGRAPHY

Written by Chris Wiebe

When the four members of Living Dead Lights came together as a band, the result was purely raw and dangerous. Beneath the music lies the unapologetic struggle of four artists grappling with the challenges of modern life. Each gritty guitar driven song thus far has captured the imagination of thousands of disaffected youths across the globe, and there appears to be no stopping them.

"Living Dead Lights looks at the concept of how our society judges the individual by class or social circumstances," said guitarist Alan Damien. "You are labeled by where you come from and the conditions you were born into. Is it really possible to rise above your own background, or have all the storybooks failed us?"

Tamada and Damien formed the band about a year ago, with Kelly and Battani joining a few months later. All four had already logged thousands of gigs on their own, touring the world with other successful bands. But the formation of the Living Dead Lights marks a new chapter in their careers, as they combine their talent and experience with industry-savvy music professionals who are eager to introduce the band to a broad audience.

Their new EP was recorded by Bradley Cook (Foo Fighters, Yellow Card, Tool, Queens of the Stoneage, Everclear, Lit), mixed by Fred Archambault (Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, Drowning Pool) and mastered by Eddy Schreyer (System of a Down, Jane's Addiction, Korn, AFI, Offspring, A Perfect Circle).

"We're really lucky to have worked with this team who helped us on this record," drummer Nick Battani said.

The band is made up of like-minded artists who abandoned the proletariat paths that were set out before them in order to follow their dreams. Their music transcends conventional genres, blending everything from Guns N' Roses to bands like The Bronx to Marilyn Manson.

Ultimately, the band says that the music they have crafted has helped them to rise above their own personal constraints.

"But the journey has just begun for us," front man Taka Tamada said. "We have a map that inspires our music, but the map is not the terrain."

In listening to the music of Living Dead Lights, there is very little to figure out – the music speaks for itself: four musicians who are as serious as they are talented.

BALLS TO THE WALL
author: Chris Michels
This EP is seriously balls to the wall, it ROCKS and it ROCKS hard! I've been a fan of Taka,(the front man) for a long time. (BOMB CHILD and Forty Deuce). I saw Bomb Child on tour years back in Modesto, CA. Anyone know why BC broke up? I was pretty excited to hear that he started a new band so I was curious to check it out. This EP is hard and raw. It's balls to the wall rocknroll. It's like the 3rd album of Bomb Child, I don't understand why they broke up exactly due to the fact that this EP sounds like another BC record.
