Album Notes

Since beginning her music career, Annelise LeCheminant has been described as “enchanting,” “refreshing,” and “engaging” as she captivates audiences with her soulful, venturesome sound. This singer/songwriter/guitarist is a musician audiences simply can’t ignore. She skillfully applies creativity and artistry to her music, developing a sound that is reminiscent of a well-stamped passport, having visited many genres and brought them home. Her music is a cohesive blend of alternative groove-rock, gypsy jazz, and soul, with a little flavor from the saltshaker of a European cafe.

Her new album “Driven” Introduces Binaural Audio, or 3-Dimensional Sound. If you’re listening to “She Can’t Sleep” on your headphones you may get the sensation that a train just passed in front of you. Don’t worry, you’re not going crazy it’s just a recording, but, it’s not any recording. It’s a train in Rome, Italy captured with tiny microphones that fit in the ears, the best funnel of sound in existence. As a result the sound, when played back, sounds as if you’re there, experiencing the train grinding to a halt. “Crow Dance” on the other hand may have you running for cover from the flock of crows flying over head. There are many more sounds that Annelise captured all over the world, incorporated into the album. You’ll just have to buy it and see.
