After years of playing lead guitar and being a sought after session musician for numerous artists and bands Lecia based in South East Queensland is stepping out on her own. As an accomplished musician on the guitar, drums and bass, her raw energetic presence and her honest vocals on stage have proved her a successful front woman.
At the tender age of 22 (2005), Lecia is already an honors graduate of the Qld Conservatorium (Bachelor of Popular Music with Hons), Lecia self-produced her debut EP 'Heaven or Hell' and it is now available for purchase via her website www.leciamusic.com or Rockinghorse Records in Brisbane city. It is an extraordinary debut release and features title track 'Heaven or Hell' and the single 'Fly' with accompanying film clip available on the CD and at her web site.
With past mentors such as Brain Cadd, Don Lebler (Axium), George Golla, Michael, Fix, Paul Cheeseman, Ross Williams, Mark Hope and Andrew Claremont, her style has been described as Indie, Rock, Pop, Alternative and even a dash of Country. Lecia has worked alongside respected producer Brendan Anthony (Wheatus, George, INXS, Jimi Barnes) and the London Music Group.
As a guitarist Lecia has supported some of Australia's biggest names such as Killing Heidi, The Butterfly Effect and Grinspoon. She played at The Woodford Folk Festival 2004/05 and was featured at Joyfest (Ash Grunwald). Lecia has played extensively over South East Queensland at venues such as The Troubadour, The Zoo, The Troccadero and The Hard Rock Cafe. Lecia's music has even stretched as far at Western Australia playing at The Swan and The Landsdown in Sydney. Her music has had air play on Bay FM, 101FM, Planet Radio and 4ZZZ. In a previous band, her music was even heard and rated on local charts in parts of Asia.
Lecia took up guitar when she saw her older sister playing, she stole her sisters guitar and she has been stealing the show ever since. Videos that her step father played to her as a kid of Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page inspired her to play the guitar like the legends. With a broad range of influences including Jimi Hendrix, Muse, The Waifs, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, The Superjesus, Michael Fix, Andrew Claremont, Alanis Morrissette, Audioslave and Lady Bird its no wonder her music keeps your toe tapping and your head nodding at the way to the corner store.
