The Metal Queen changed to an energetic Mistress of Swing and Jazz
author: Marc.
She is older now, she is wiser now, she is more silent and even more sensitive now than way back in her metal years. To put it in nut: She arrived! She found the perfect way to express herself with some really great energetic and moody songs. Some funny, some melancholic and a few with a sense of well-being. This album is more pop song orientated with little roots in soul, jazz and swing. By the way: The record before was absolutely a swing album. Although the pop influence it sounds more deep going but never in sense of heavy moods. Everything sounds easy, real and down to earth. Her vocals are impressive and the musicians and compositions are a perfect match to her. The few cover songs too. She sings like a real master. I love it! The album, it is a beautiful thing.

more then metal to this queen

This CD is best described by saying this is what happens when our stupid record industry types forget the music is made by people not images. If you were a fan of Lee's hard rock do your self a favor and expand your musical mind with this CD. You won't be disappointed.

Still going strong and - oooch - as sexy as ever

This CD lives up to the highest musicals standards. She's not the Metal Queen anymore, but boy, Lee's voice is getting even better year after year, now being mature, very warm and touching, having an immediate impact on the listener. Songs are a mixture of excellent covers (Handcuffed to a Fence in Mississippi is real raunchy, bluesy stuff, comparable to the best of Cathy Jean) and the songs she penned with freshman Joel Kroeker (Private Billie Holliday is an instant classic, smooth and intriguing) are little jewels. Concerning style, it's pop, jazz, blues and blends of it. Even some midtempo rockers. Beware, this lady - even as a mother of two kids - is to be reckoned with. She still has looks to kill and it's still a pleasure to listen to her music.
