Album Notes

Created in the completely independent environment of the band's 24 track analog recording studio, Signal Sound Source, on Chicago's west side, Left Setter's eponymous debut is mind-blowing - both sonically and artistically. The songs are heavy, the melodies are fresh and the message is positive without being naive. That strength, determination and resolve is well documented in this 11-song testimony to finding your in the challenging and sometimes hidden beauty of the complex world in which we live. Check out http://www.leftsetter.com for tons of info on this great band!

"In a town that is known for it's vibrant and flourishing music scene, there is one band that seems to be making a tremendous impact with a sound and style of it's own. I believe Left Setter is one of the most promising bands that Chicago has to offer."
Chris Payne - Disc Jockey - Q101

Richard Milne 93.1 WXRT Chicago

"Have you ever heard a band that has a great modern retro sound? Yes, it is an oxymoron, but Left Setter must be a musical oxymoron, then. The group (Nick Langis, George Langis, Sean Keenehan, and Jimmi Nolan) has a wonderful modern sound that clearly shows their roots in older music. The album shows leanings toward such groups as Stone Temple Pilots, Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath, but you are also likely to hear moments of psychedelia and punk. With influences that wide-ranging, the music should be quite varied, and it is. They know how to vary a melody and when to play it hard and when to bring it in soft. Truly, this is one of the strongest debuts to come around in a while and shows a hard-rocking band that should go far."
Gary Hill - All Music Guide/Artist Direct

"Arriving at Hammer with the backing of Soil's Shaun Glass, this self-financed CD shames many major label releases with its quality, but it's the band's sound that captures the attention. A bludgeoning assault of hard hitting melody that sounds like nothing else out there at the moment."
Jerry Ewing - Metal Hammer - UK

"An eclectic, inspired mix of heavy metal and melodic rock, with a distinct sonic and artistic vision."
Skope Magazine - Boston

Left Setter has a unique modern rock sound. The strongest tracks on this disc are "Luckiest Man Alive", "Numb", "Trainwreck", "London" and "Teardrop". If you like heavy rock that is both uplifting and sludgy at the same time, then you may dig this disc. The sound on the disc is panoramic...like the band is rocking out in the middle of The Grand Canyon. The vocals and guitar are generally treated with heavy delay. This band could open for both Jane's Addiction and Ozzy.
