Biography

Legend Heart was born in early 2003 after years of work between Reno West and Suzette Monique. Along side business partner & close friend Bob Roberts, the band released their successful self-titled debut CD on Valentines Day in 2004.

Legend Heart band members are comprised of seasoned, professional & multi-talented musicians, whose individual energies contribute to the uniqueness of the band's synergistic sound. The band made their debut public performance at the Pantages Theater on January 1st 2005, to a very enthusiastic crowd. Northwest Harvest and the Family Renewal Center were both featured charities at the self-produced event.

Reno West has played everything from small bars to world class stadiums nationwide, over the years. He knows how to make his guitar cry, sing, and scream! His talents and skills as a songwriter, guitarist, and performer are among the best in the world. His guitar licks are one of a kind! His vocals creative and powerful. Truly, an experience not to be missed.

Suzette Monique's colorful musical history includes performing in concert bands, and local musical theater performances in Berlin, Germany. She began studying music and voice at a very early age; and is an accomplished flutist of many years. She was born into the world of music. Her aunt, Dorothy Berry, toured and sang as a Raylette with Ray Charles in the mid-to-late 70s; and her uncle Richard Berry penned the famed song "Louie, Louie" in the 50s. Suzette's vocals and flutes add color, strength, power, depth, and emotion to the Legend Heart sound. Her lead vocals are strong, and yet very versatile. She is an artist, dedicated to her craft.

James Wyatt has played for many years with just about every major Mowtown R&B-Soul act all over the world. Legend Heart's original bassist, James has worked with some of the greatest Motown, R&B, & Soul artists in history, including; Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, The Drifters, The Platters, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, The Temptations, & Fats Domino. James is not only a mesmirizing bassist, and a sharp vocalist; he is also a living miracle. When James was in his teens, he lost four of his fingers in a work related accident. He literally plays the bass with the top halves of his four fingers missing. It is truly beyond belief how he does it, and manages to be so phenomenal.

Mike West is a developing talent, full of promise. He started playing keyboards at a very young age, and has since expanded his skills to include rhythm guitar. He has become a very vital part of the band.

Paul Higgins is a seasoned and talented drummer-percussionist, who has played with many local music projects in the Seattle area. His talent and passion for his craft add to the multifaceted sound that has become the Legend Heart sound.

Bob Roberts is not only the band's business manager, but also plays bass in the Legend Heart acoustic shows, which showcases the band's lighter, more folk like material.

Together, the members of Legend Heart form a powerhouse, ass-kicking wall of synergy, sound, and song.

A band doing what they love, loving what they do....
author: West Side Dave
The home of Grunge has started producing some quality artists in the last few years, and this band is certainly one of the city`s bright musical hopes! Legend Heart is the collaborative efforts of guitarist/vocalist Reno West & vocalist/flutist/keyboardist Suzette Monique. "River Cry For The Sky" is their second album, and runs the gamut between classic Hard Rock/Metal, Sixties, & Seventies Pop/Rock and all points in between, melding them into their own unique musical blend. It is truly inspiring to see a group of musicians follow their own muse, regardless of current trends and what is considered to be "hip" at the moment. A band doing what they love, loving what they do, simple as that! And while the production is a bit rough around the edges at times, the spirit of each track shines through loud and clear. Among the standouts are "Wizard Of Rock", the high-powered "Devil In The Batcave" and my personal favorite, "Can You Ever Go Home Again", certainly one of the best songs I`ve ever heard! Now THIS is the kind of band we should be hearing about, not Hillary Duff! So, what are you waiting for? Quit staring at the screen, go to the bands` website and buy their albums, so we can have MORE great releases by this band, and others like them. Plus, portions of net proceeds of the album go to charities that benefit homeless women, children and teen. So you`ll be supporting a great band, some fine causes AND get a killer CD, too! Does it get any better than that? I don`t think so.....

I live in Hoquiam, Washington and bought this CD online, after hearing them on Wylde radio. Is this the only station that plays this band? These dudes are superior, and this album is too. I will be buying their debut too. The cuts I heard from that are in a class of their own, Just great great music!
