Album Notes

Ben Leinbach and Outlaw Dervish team up on this rich collection of what the duo has coined “New Edge Hypnodelic Music”. The compositions here create a cool yet vibrant atmosphere that draw upon elements of world, ambient, and meditation music, with an essence of the blues sprinkled in here and there. This music explores the light and dark qualities of the human experience and transports the listener through diverse emotional fields. Wernet (Outlaw Dervish) brings his devotion to the Didjeridu, lending a deep, ancient, and reverent quality to Leinbach’s lush and groovy soundscapes.

There are several guest musicians featured on the disc whose performances soar beautifully above the swampy sonic backdrops. Bansuri flute by Manose, vocals by Tina Malia, Benjy Wertheimer, and Joshua Levy, electric guitar by Phillipo Franchini and Gawain Mathews.

Leinbach has produced several albums in various genres including Jai Uttal’s Grammy-nominated work “Mondo Rama” and his own Lifestyle Award winning “Spirit of Yoga” (New Age Reporter). He performs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in a number of musical projects while producing recordings with a diverse array of world music artists and singer/songwriters. Outlaw Dervish (Travis Wernet) has completed three studio albums with Leinbach as well as two albums with Axis Mundi. Songs from the album “Outlaw Dervish” have been featured on KPFA , Pacifica FM Radio, Groove Salad Radio at SOMA FM, KOWS FM Radio as well as RhtyhmTree Radio in the UK (DidgHeadRadio). He appears at various venues with a multitude of fellow musicians in the Bay Area and also performs his music internationally from Australia to Egypt and beyond.
