Brand new, seriously playful Swedish jazz, is presented by the trio Lekverk on their debut album 21st Century Jump.
Lekverk’s music combines an appealing groove with lyrical beauty, embedded in a playfulness which makes anything possible.
They have found that their music may influence an audience in the following ways: produce a sparkling sensation, being soothing when stressed, and often give a sudden urge to play with the music, with whatever you may find lying around.
But the character of the music isn’t easily described in words. Mere facts about the members, like them all being awarded prestigious Swedish jazz prizes (Putte has even won a Danish Jazz Grammy award), and that other bands they play with includes world renowned Bobo Stenson Trio, The Stoner, Anagram, Sekten, Fattigfolket, Yun Kan 5 and many other Scandinavian bands and musicians, and that many of their concerts over the last few years have ended in a euphoria, closing in on chaos, won’t help very much when it comes to accurately describing their sound.
