Album Notes

Plymouth based band Lemanis have a core of 4 members (all lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists) and an extra 10 members who record with us and play live when stage size allows (horns, strings, female vocals and a few other bits). The music we play is quite varied but to try to make it easy for you, we've been compared to The Super Furry Animals, The Beach Boys and The Polyphonic Spree (probably a numbers reference that one) as well as a few others.
We have live shows ranging from (at smallest) 4 piece acoustic to 14 piece fully amplified gigs with horn section, string section, acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass and double bass, flute, melodian and female vocalist. The sound on the album fluctuates between the full big band sound and smaller line up, but many of the songs can get played in both ways, or anything in between.
