Lemo was born in Trinidad, number ten in the pecking order of 11 children. His father, being a elementary school principal and strict disciplinarian, had his hands full with this not so bookwormish seventh son. Lemo turned to music early on as an outlet for his creativity and to have his voice heard amidst a very noisy household! At age 12, he was given a right-handed guitar, which might have been a problem for the left-hander, had he not adapted in true Lemo-style by learning to play it upside down! After 4 years of teaching himself in this rather unconventional technique, and practicing many different genres of music such as rock, calypso, reggae, funk, blues and jazz, he formed the rock band Tenacity with his high school friends. As the lead guitarist, Lemo found himself not only playing his own part, but teaching the bass player as well. Of course, the other members soon realized Lemo should take over as bassist. This left him absolutely devastated because he knew the girls only swooned for the boy with the lead guitar. Lemo cried for weeks before resigning himself to his new role. Little did he know that rising to the challenge would prove to be a blessing in disguise and lead to him joining some of the biggest names in Trinidad's music culture. As a bass player he performed to massive audiences all around the world. While many musicians are notorious for their wild and crazy lifestyles, Lemo is of a different breed altogether. Being a vegan for over 20 years, and a raw foodist for over 7 years, he lives a very conscious lifestyle and remains always respectful of nature and its creatures. He attributes his boundless energy to the value system he so passionately believes in. Only raw and organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds will enter his temple. Lemo’s value system is strongly voiced in the title track of LOVE 4 SURE, which is deeply rooted in his desire to end all war and restore peace and harmony to our very unsettled world. The fact that the music commands you to get up and dance is an added plus! While Lemo may live only on fruits and veggies, he is definitely no garden variety musician!
