The frozen city of Buffalo, NY is about as far away from the Big Apple as you can be while still legally being in the state. Let’s face it, you’re practically in Canada at this point. And unbeknownst to few, Canada, my dear friends, is cold. So very, very cold.
So what better way to escape the frozen tundra than to start up a band and tour the US! Well, that’s what the fine folks in Lemuria did. They’ve been touring the US since their inception well over a year ago. Making friends along the way from Atlanta, GA to Olympia, WA these friendly punk rockers have been bringing their melodic brand of energetic indie-punk across the entire nation!
Making friends and allies along the way and with what luck that they met the venerable Kind of Like
Spitting. Hailing from the equally cold city of Portland, OR, KOLS has been all of the US as well and has been super active putting out almost a dozen albums on various labels such as Barsuk, Hush,
Jealous Butcher and Redder Records. They possess an intense fan base due to their well crafted, lyrical songs that owe much to singer Ben Barnett’s strong emotional delivery. Ben served time in the much
beloved Thermals (Sub Pop) before starting up KOLS, and his song writing has stayed strong. KOLS has also featured Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie as a recording artist and band member. You may also remember them from tours with Death Cab For Cutie, Saves the Day, Ash, and many others!
Both bands toured together at the beginning of 2006 to support the release before its national release date.
Art of the Underground will be releasing two of Kind Of Like Spitting full lengths this summer on vinyl.
Both bands will be actively touring to support the record throughout the year.
