REVIEWS

author: CD Baby
A "household name" around CD Baby and an artist we've continued to follow, having been so impressed with her previous releases, Leni Stern presents yet another fresh album, this time dipping deeper into the jazz world. Joined by Bill Frisell, Bob Berg:Larry Willis, Harvie Swartz and Paul Motian, "Clairvoyant" is one of the more directed, clear and crisp jazz albums to come along in quite awhile.

A "first" CD that sounds great
author: Dow Ford
Thanks CD Baby. Clairvoyant was hard to come by and it completes my Leni Stern Collection. Great Jazz with wonderful playing by Bob Berg on sax and Larry Willis on piano, an instrument which is conspicuously absent on later recordings by Leni. Back Out is a great standard and a wonderful lead off tune for launching Leni Stern's recording career 20 years ago (1985). Of course, there is plenty of the haunting scales Leni plays throughout, especially in Someday My Prince Will Come. Warning!! If you begin listening to Leni Stern, you won't be satisfied with anything else. Thanks again CD Baby for making this out of print recording available!!! You guys rock (I mean JAZZ!!!!!)
