One of those artists whose music consistently has such quality that
you would buy any of her albums, regardless of the focus and style.
With her signature, unforgettably unique voice that is both
accessible with a casual quality and yet restrained with a
sophisticated distance, Leni Stern delivers another slam-dunk album,
this time channeling her talent through a more bluesy and jazzy
style. If you're not familiar with Leni yet, now is the time to get
in the loop.

Why Not More?

I believe this is Leni Stern's 15th CD release. From the opening lick of "Beauty Queen" you know how commanding she can be. I have never understood the concept of an EP. Why only 4 songs? It's not like she doesn't have a body of work to draw on---my god...20 plus years worth of stuff. I wish she would recycle some old stuff and get us 12 songs. I would also like to have more instrumentals and less singing. Her strongest work by farrrrrrrrrrrrr is Finally the Rain Has Come, a CD with the perfect mix of vocals and instrumentals. Anyway, an average CD by Leni Stern is better than a good CD by everyone else. The price was good....I would have paid a lot more!

This woman's consistent body of quality work never ceases to move and impress us. Elegantly weaving jazz colors with a warm, resonant adult contemporary folk style, her distinctive songs probe into human stories, human questions and human ordeals from one's relationship with the world to one's exploration and questioning of God or Godlessness. She speaks with honesty, sincerity and heartfelt yearning, tapping the universal search for meaning and understanding. If you aren't yet familiar with Leni Stern, this is a wonderful opportunity to change and be changed.
