Urban/Folk rhythms temper the raw power of this young artist's hauntingly deep voice. It's as if the well articulated piano phrasings and stunning vocals were sent throught the Express Train tunnel and came out to Grand Central Station pulsing and breathing. And all that from a girl who grew up in the country of Pennsylvania and studied classical piano! Somewhere between her log cabin home and downtown university Sarah found her place in the world. A world that's passionate and alive like the city and country that she loves.
Her songs are caught in between the same way. Songs that waver between pop, folk, soul and rock. Songs that sing of life, death and everything that happens between. Her piano playing is the foundation of each song. Rachmoninoff and Sarah share the same birthday and the same passion for the depth and lower end of the piano. Her jazz professors lead her to a love of rich chording. And her love of songwriter greats like Stevie Wonder, Bruce Hornsby, Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos and Elton John opened her to a world of lyrical poetry and showed her how to sing and play from her soul.
This first album of Sarah's is a window into a budding New York songwriter's heart and soul. It's an all-or-nothing love-me-or-leave-it journey worth taking.

That voice! That production! Lentz shines on independent debut disc.
author: Daniel Cohen
Imagine your archetypal "female songwriter", imbued with a voice of more range and expression than her peers and lyrical talent far beyond her years; combine the strong songwriting with sparkling production and intelligent, understated piano and you have what may be the finest indie release of the last year. Far, far better than it has any right to be without label support or big-name talent behind the boards, No Going Home is a dazzling collection of 11 powerful tunes, ranging from Amosesque piano ballad to full-out Portishead electroglam. Dynamic, textured, never dull, and rarely anything less than stunning, Lentz' yearning, sensual songs prove that she's more than a pretty face, and may well be one of the most underappreciated musicians in the New York scene.

I just saw Sarah in concert at the Living Room in New York. She was phenomenal. Her sultry voice and well meant lyrics transport you to her feelings. Whether its joy, sadness, elation, and confusion, you are there with her. Her down to earth attitude only enhances her approachability to her music. There is definitely something for everyone here. All you need to do is listen to the first track, “No Going Home” and you’ll be hooked.

Definitely decible flexible and mood altering
author: Margaret Connor
First time round, this CD requires quite attentive listening. Second time round, raise the volume to get penetrated by the percussion. Third time round, have the remote close at hand to crank the volume for songs like Disinegrate and Man and Woman and to lower the volume for the serenity of Suzanne's Song and Untold Story. This decible flexible collection of equally brilliant songs, can be played entirely low and serene for quite mental getaways ... or ... can just as equally be placed in the CD player of a convertible and pushed to full volume as driver and passenger belt out each and every word -- Good thing spring is just around the corner!!!
