This CD is a mix of singer/songwriter material that incorporates many styles, such as orchestral, small ensemble, standard rock band, and stripped down guitar and voice; or piano and voice; very poetic.

Album Notes

When I started this project I wanted to do something that was uniquely me. I decided to write, arrange, and perform all the material on this CD by myself. Hence the name, Alone.
All the acoustic things like, voices, guitars, piano, bass guitar, pedal steel guitar, piano, toy piano, jew’s harp, autoharp, and so on, were played live, without editing. I wanted to maintain a certain amount of live quality to the recording and performance. I must admit, I did record the voices many times, but I only used completed performances, and did not “chop” them up into little pieces to make them sound better. I wanted to capture the performance, not the perfection.
The same applies to the orchestral instruments. These instruments are samples played via keyboard. When I recorded these parts I did them one at a time. I did not edit out the mistakes. The only exception was the violin solo on “Crazy Things,” I cut it down because it ran to long. Everything else was recorded to capture the performance. They may not always sound perfect or in time, but I tried to capture the “feel” of the piece.
All-in-all this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and feel that I have accomplished what I set out to do. I hope you will enjoy and reflect.
