Album Notes

Leo Lazarus, originally from Jackson, Mississippi, is a Memphis-based singer-songwriter with influences including Toad the Wet Sprocket, Glen Phillips, Third Eye Blind, Oasis, John Mayer and Edwin McCain. Leo has performed at countless venues around Memphis and throughout the Southeast from Little Rock to Atlanta to Perdido Key, FL.

“Someplace More Extraordinary” comes from a large collection of personal songs written over a 15 year stretch, though most of the songs featured on the CD were written between 1999 and 2002. All songs are written by Leo Lazarus with one notable exception. The lyrics for "A Little Something" are taken almost word for word from a letter Leo received from Susan M. Ellis in 1994.

The CD was recorded at Stage Studios in West Memphis, AR and produced by Jeremiah Tucker (Barrett Baber, Silent Parade).

Leo's song "Beautiful" is featured in the independent film "Innocent Idiots" by LAP Productions in Hobbs, NM. The song is featured on the soundtrack as well.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this CD is donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
