Leon Fallon is a native Aussie singer/songwriter/actor. From a family of performers and the odd sportsman, Leon bought his first electric guitar and amp at age 13 (thanks to his older brother Dominic, his first guitar idle) and hasn't stopped playing since. He is originally self taught and started playing/singing rock 'n' roll to audiences at the age of 14. In the 23 years of gigging since he has done many performances from cruise ships in the South Pacific, to live performances on national TV in Australia with The Cockroaches(replacing Anthony Field who was busy starting The Wiggles at the time) and The Sacred Hearts. He has also had a job playing in the family band The Love Pirates for a major radio station's live Breakfast Show in Sydney. The Sydney Opera House and as far out as the red earthed pubs of Australia's interior are all also highlights. Leon has also been very fortunate to have worked with The Wiggles over the years, learning much about children's education through music. Leon trained professionally as an actor at the Maggie Flanigan Studio in New York City.
Leon is very excited to be bringing his "alter ego" character "Outback Aussie" to the US. Based in New York City, Leon has been performing his "Outback Shows" here in the Northeast for the last 2 years. So the release of his first album is long overdue. The album was co-written and produced by his supremely talented brother-in-law John Field off his newly established studio and Indie label Caspian Productions in Sydney (John himself has written over 150 songs for The Wiggles, See John's Bio Below)
Leon or "Outback Aussie" as he likes to be known as is a unique children’s entertainer who has been wowing New England audiences with his original rockin catchy tunes for the last 2 years. He along with Karla the Koala, and Jilleroo put on an authentic Australian show with their off the cuff Australian humor and energetic performances.
Using great backing tracks from the album, guitar, silly singing, dancing and cool props, these shows are a creative and enjoyable experience for audiences young and old. With tunes such as “Jump Like A Kangaroo”, “Karla The Koala”, “Dance The Wobbly Dance” and “Walk Like An Emu”, children are engaged with infectious melodies and very cool actions.
Leon is also fortunate to be teaching music classes at the Citibabes Club in SoHo New York.
After 20 years as a full time professional musician, John Field has now formed his ultimate band, “The John Field Band”. This high octane, eight piece band includes the vocal talents of John Field and Bronwyn Mulcahy; the dynamic three piece horn section of Dom Lindsay, Dan Fallon and Roy Ferin, Mark Rohanna on Piano and the most sensational rhythm section in the country -marvellous Matt Morrison on drums and bassman Chris Lupton. Rock, soul, blues, jazz and modern pop - they can and do play it all. An original member of the rock group “The Cockroaches”, John Field has performed at over 5,000 gigs since 1980 and has written ten national top forty hits including the Cockroaches Platinum selling, APRA nominated first album.
John has also written over 150 songs for the world famous children's group "The Wiggles" and won an APRA award for "Hot Potato". The John Field Band lineup includes some of Sydney's most professional musicians. Between them, they have worked with jazz names such as James Morrison, Mel Torme, Johnny Johnson and Monica Trapaga. They have played with blues acts such as "The Hippos" and "The Bondi Cigars". On the other side of the coin, they've appeared in major musical theatre productions around the world, Bronwyn Mulcahy a featured vocalist on Andrew Lloyd Webber's Masterpiece DVD.
