"When Home Is Far Away" takes the listener on an instrumental journey through cities and seasons. With the guitar as his voice, Leong's debut album is filled with gentle tunes reflecting on winter in New York, beaches in Hawaii, and thinking about the distant sights and smells of the islands. Influenced by ki ho`alu (Hawaiian slack key), classical guitar, and fingerstyle, "When Home Is Far Away" touches several tunings and styles, while consistently staying true to the relaxing nature of Hawaii.
