Originally recorded in July of 1977 for vinyl release, these performances have been reissued on compact disc for the first time in memory of Leopold La Fosse, who passed away on May 24, 2003. Both La Fosse and Simms were members of the faculty of the University of Iowa for many years, and all net proceeds from the sale of this CD are being donated to the University of Iowa Foundation

The recording captures 45 minutes of virtuoso performances from the two musicians, and was remastered for this release by Peter Nothnagle, from original sessions engineered by Lowell Cross.
