Leslie Bixler first released a nationwide album entitled “Make It Right” on SinDrome Records under her maiden name“Leslie Letven”. Popular in the jazz/pop market, her album reached #12 on the radio charts and continues to get airplay to this day. She follows this up with a more rock-based singer/songwriter album called “Porcupine” which takes an introspective and sometimes bluesy turn and embraces themes from adoption to infidelity, from the early Joni Mitchell-esque guitar-centered “Porcupine” and “Just Business”, to the soulful feel of “Going Through the Motions” to the classic beauty of “Home Again” and “Toasting the Moon”. “Porcupine” is an intensely personal album with lots of musical sophistication and variety, showing new dimensions of Bixler’s personality and talent as singer and songwriter.
Produced by herself and husband Bill Bixler, “Porcupine” features the best in musicianship: delightful guitar work by Daris Atkins and Phil Wimer, keyboards by Wayne Jones, bass by David Enos, and drums by Tony Morales, Steve Samuel, and Hud Bixler. Luscious background vocals are provided by Debi Ruud and Phil Wimer. Pedal steel guitar on “Home Again” and “Toasting the Moon” is by Jerry Barnett.
“Porcupine” is a timeless gem that speaks of themes from the heart and soars musically. Bixlers musical roots come together to create a truly unique landscape that you will want to visit again and again
