"Not all the great performers were on the main stage. Throughout the campgrounds you could hear music, guitars, banjos. mandolins, and occasional djembe. Lot's of jamming, some local groups trying to drum up interest and hawk their CDs. I was lucky enough to be camped very close to a true talent. Every day we were graced with wonderful songs from Leslie McClure, a student at Nashville's Belmont University. This gal has the stuff, and quite frankly put some of the performers on the main stage to shame, much less the amateurs that were vying for top spot in the contest the festival holds every year...she was one of this year's highlights for the Warner Field crowd."

Inspired lyrics, disarming voice; a young woman with a unique voice and unique s
author: Tara Kay
I am addicted to The Santiago Set. Each song on this album moves seamlessly from bluegrass to folk to Celtic to slightly jazzy. Leslie's voice is disarming, her lyrics revealing. Her soothing alto brings the listener through the highs and lows of leaving one's comfort zone and gaining new perspectives. The last song on the album, The Problem with the Atlantic Ocean: Santiago, expresses the pain of coping with departing from an idyllic situation and tells of the power of friendship that transcends language, culture, and distance. It brings me back to the sunny, spring days we spent on the terraced lawns of Boneval in Santiago listening to Leslie improvise lyrics and chords with musicians from seven different countries and she somehow made truly beautiful music. This woman is inherently talented and extremely versatile. I can't wait to hear her next perspectives on life and love.
