Album Notes

Lester Hirsh, singer, songwriter, guitarist has been
compared to Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen,
and Johhny Cash with a touch of Woody Guthrie meets Allen Ginsberg. He spent part of his youth in the anthracite coal town of Shenandoah Pennsylvania and Miami Florida.
His music was influenced by classical, folk artists of
the 1960's and jazz he heard in the pubs in Miami Florida.
In 2005, his Spoken Word CD, Mosaic, poems of an ancient order was nominated for a grammy. He was also a finalist
at the Napa Valley Emerging Songwriter Contest, Napa Valley
California in 1997. That same year he was listed in Marquis Who's Who in the East and his song To Have You By My Side was sent on a 12 song collection to entertain troops in Bosnia, In 1978 he toured with Kathleen Radspinner as the duo Jerusalem for the National School Assembly Program in 8 midwest states. They also performed at the All Souls Church in Washington D.C along with legendary folk artist Hazel Dickens for the Stearns Miners
from Kentucky. Lester has been an editor and publisher
and performs for special needs audiences in additional to
concert and pub works. He also performs in poetry venues and instructs writing seminars when not on the road.
