Levator was founded by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sky Lynn in 2003. Rando Skrasek joined in 2006 on drums, analog synthesizer and effects. Nate Henry joined in 2007 on sax, synthesizer and effects. The first Levator album, Midnight, was released in 2004 and was a solo project. The second Levator album, Jackson Highway Barnes Drive, was released in 2006 and introduced Rando on three tracks. The third Levator album, The Biggest Waves Come At Night, is an entire band collaboration and was released in 2009.
