Slip into something comfortable, pour yourself a glass of fine red wine, turn out the lights, forget about the time, and let the ethereal tones of Levi Chen's clear, silken Stratocaster and otherworldly Chinese harp work their magic on your whole being as they slowly evaporate before you. Chen's touch is both delicate and sure; whether he's striking a single note or bending, plucking, or strumming the strings, he allows each and every note to find its rightful place in the ambient soundscape. For anyone looking to relax and unwind or just to relish the very fine subtleties offered, there is much fulfillment to be found here. The pace is unhurried, and yet the delicious sonorities issuing forth from Master Chen's fingers pull the listener gently along like a slow-moving boat on a mist-enshrouded river. At certain times the feel of the playing reminds of a more delicate and mystical David Gilmour, at others of the quieter, introspective moments of Jade Warrior's Tony Duhig.
