Album Notes

Dynamic, passionate, moving and innovative, Marni Levitt has honed her natural talent for songwriting and performing over several years in Montreal, Toronto and New York City. Her unique style of music incorporates powerful vocal techniques with percussive guitar, and a very engaging stage presence. Her songwriting draws from diverse influences including hip-hop/RnB, jazz, folk and rock.

In Toronto, Marni has recently collaborated with producer Brian Moncarz and several stellar local musicians to create her first EP, "ORIGIN," a moving tale of rebirth from grief. "When someone you love dies, they will continue to have an influence on the world if you create art." One song from the EP is featured on a compilation of Toronto independent artists entitled "Consider This."

Marni Levitt is a recipient of a FACTOR award - her music has been broadcast on provincial and national television as well as on local radio stations. Recent highlights include performing at North By Northeast, a successful CD launch, a tour through eastern Canada, and appearances on PridevisionTV.

Marni is eager to participate more intensively in the entertainment industry. She is currently studying radio and television arts at Ryerson University.

The music was heartwrenching and yet calmly comforting. Marni's voice is beautiful and touched my soul. Marni, if you read this, I sent you an e-mail. I don't know if you ever got it. You probably don't remember me. But congratulations on such a beautiful album and I wish you the absolute best.
