Crazy Coyote
author: Leeds Scott
I love this album. I am a huge Dead fan, and heard some great similarities. This album however, stands on it's own. It is so incredibly good and sometimes If I'm busy, it will play a couple of times. It get's better and better and I can't say how psyched I am to have found this band. Thank you!! Leeds

Phenomenal fusion of sounds and styles
author: Emily
Crazy Coyote is definitely a live tour CD -- with all the strengths and weaknesses that come with such a project. The weaknesses in sound and production quality, as well as the occasionally "off" vocal or instrumental work (rather charming characteristics that remind you it's a live show), are easily overcome by the album's many strengths. A chief strength of the album and of Longmire's musicianship is the fusion and crossover among styles - from the blues, country, and "funnybones" songs to the stepped up ballads, grooves, and gospel-inspired jams - The Lewi Longmire Band does it all and does it well.
Listeners will have to judge for themselves, but my favorite track by far is "This Time" which segues beautifully into a rendition of "Are you Lonely for me, Baby?" that will stick in your head like the best peanut butter, honey & banana sandwich on the planet. "This Time" blends echoes of the rhythmically ascending refrain from the classic Woody Guthrie tune "Bound for Glory" (this train is bound for glory, this train . . .) with a heartfelt hippie dance song that has you tapping your feet to the beat while nodding your head to the sentiment. "And it ain't gonna be like last time, when all you have to do is change your mind. No, this time's gonna change me, this time." Haven't we all said THAT before? Somehow, when Lewi Longmire says it, it feels very empowering.

Lewi's live performance finally caught on CD!
author: Linsel Greene
It's been a long time since Lewi Longmire released his last CD, "If I live to be 100", and a lot of us have been champing at the bit, waiting for more Lewi we can take home and enjoy on our stereos.
This CD is a welcome relief.
Crazy Coyote not only includes tunes which are otherwise unavailable on CD, but also does so in a live format, capturing Lewi and his excellent band in surroundings where he excels. His band is tight, the inclusion of Kevin Ritchey adds a nice counterpoint to Lewi's distinctive guitar sound.
But the highlight of the performance is definitely
Longmire's trademark guitar and vocals. Best of all, it sounds like the boys had a great time recording it, and that really comes through on the CD. It feels like you're listening to something really special.

this record rocks...
author: mateo montana
If you're lucky enough to live in Portland, Oregon, then you have the distinct pleasure to see Lewi and his amazing band every week...If not, then this new live cd gives you a fairly perfect glimpse into the no-nonsense(maybe some nonsense), gritty, seasoned, and vital force that is the Lewi Longmire Band. These guys are musicians that every musician and listener can love alongside each other...They're bad-ass enough to blow your mind musically and down-to-earth enough to mellow your soul while whipping up catchy, rockin tunes from their original library and from the best of the music and artists that inspires them...You can hear the sweat on this recording and that's why it's one to own...How often do you hear a live recording that really feels alive? Well this one does and it's honest enough to include the mishaps as well as highest of moments...and isn't that what rock and roll is all about? Love it.
