from rootsy country-rock to brash "Hell-hath-no-fury" blues
author: All Music Guide
Contemporary folksinger/songwriter Lynn Frances Anderson writes songs in a variety of styles, from rootsy country-rock to brash "Hell-hath-no-fury" blues that ranks alongside some of Bonnie Raitt's work. Inspired guitar and harmonica work from Mary J. Curtis punctuates Anderson's vocals nicely, particularly on the barroom-stomper "Biggest, Baddest Heart," while Scarlet Riviera's violin echoes reverberate around the title track. The bluesier numbers seem to work best for Anderson's gruff voice, but bright vocal harmonies in "Archie (Medicine Man)" and the gentle "Marigolds" add crisp contrast in the more folk-based numbers. While Anderson isn't necessarily breaking new ground with her warm West Coast folk-rock, every track is polished quite nicely and shows a true passion for her craft, promising even brighter things for her future. ~ Zac Johnson, All Music Guide

Awesome CD & Singer - covering multiple vocal styles and musical genres
author: Myra Lavenue
Lynn Frances Anderson's CD "Beautiful Morning" is a great collection of songs to listen to for inspriation, for dancing, and for just plain getting down with your favorite squeeze! Her lyrics, regardless of the song, are thoughtful and catchy -- I love her writing. These aren't your run-of-the-mill songs of love and heartbreak; Lynn's going for something bigger here. The blues fan in me loves "Biggest Baddest Heart," while the women's folk/rock artist fan in me loves "Pin Me" and "When the Walls Come Down." Her backup singers add a layer of depth to Lynn's soulful voice, and the band rocks as well as it rolls the mood for a softer song like "Be Who You Are" and "Marigolds." I've seen LFA live and this album does it's best to capture that energy and passion so evident as she sings. If you love Paula Cole, Sarah McLaughlin, or even Melissa Etheridge, you'll love Lynn Frances Anderson.

Wide musical variety keeps me coming back.

After listening to this CD for the last two years I still
can't decide whether it's the bluesy Biggest Baddest Heart,
the utterly sweet What She Needs, or the Celtic sounding
Be Who You Are, that keeps me popping the CD in for another
listen. I can't wait to see what she'll unleash in her
next CD.
