Album Notes

Little Grey Girlfriend formed as a live band in August of 2006. They perform original music: a mix of Indie Rock, Electronica, and Jazz. Erika Lloyd performs on vocals, keyboards, and trumpet, Brad Whiteley plays keyboards and acoustic guitar, Peter Maness plays upright and electric bass, and Joe Salvati plays drums. In the short time they have been performing, they have already acquired a substantial fan base in the tri-state area, especially Brooklyn-ites. They were such an immediate hit that fans have already started bringing professional recording equipment to capture live shows and post them online.
Brad Whiteley and Erika Lloyd have been collaborating on the music for Little Grey Girlfriend since January of 2006. They started by having Brad compose the instrumental parts, and Erika writing the vocal line with lyrics, and trumpet solos. Eventually they started arranging Erika’s own original compositions for the group, or holding improv sessions to collaborate on new material. They met the year before, at Indiana University, where Brad was getting his masters in Jazz Studies and Classical Piano Performance, and Erika, her bachelors in Early Music Voice Performance. Brad and Peter Maness met while working as musicians on a cruise ship together and Joe Salvati was introduced to Brad and Erika by a friend. All four band members have degrees in music performance, are incredibly talented and creative, and open to all sorts of great musical influences.
