LAFAYETTE HARRIS, JR.
Lafayette is Here---Solo (Airmen)

Pianist Lafayette Harris, Jr. has started his own artist-run record label, Airmen, to record himself, and some friends, and this is its fourth release.
Harris, well-educated and refined at the keyboard, has worked as a sideman and leader around New York for the last 15 years, and he recorded two albums for Muse.

On this disc, he plays his own compositions, new and old, in a solo piano setting that is delicate and restrained, yet still manages to convey a sense of funk, soul, and spirituality.
